Facilities and Technology

At Vatsalya Dental, we ensure our patients have access to the latest in international standards of oral care. We have invested in high-end equipment and the latest in technology to ensure precise and faster procedures, and enhanced patient care with lesser pain and discomfort. We are one of the very few clinics in the city with the below equipment, providing our patients with the best in oral care services:

VELscope is the latest technology that has revolutionized oral mucosal examinations. It is highly effective in detecting oral cancer in the early stages. VELscope is a handheld device that emits a harmless, blue light used to inspect the mouth and tongue. The instrument is sensitive to abnormal tissue changes and the blue-spectrum light causes the oral mucosa of the mouth to fluoresce, highlighting the irregularities. We are one of the very few clinics in the country with this technology.

Microscopic Dentistry

Microscopic dentistry uses special microscopes to provide detailed, close-up images of a patient’s mouth for use in general, cosmetic and restorative dental care. These microscopes help us examine the mouth, gums, and teeth with magnification of up to 20 times that of the naked eye. This is exceptionally useful in detecting hairline fractures, restorative dentistry, and root canal therapy. Vatsalya Dental is one of the very few clinics in Bangalore incorporating microscopic dentistry for root canal treatments and other oral procedures.

Laser Dentistry

Laser dentistry helps enhance treatment with laser technology. This procedure has highly benefited dental surgery in hard tissue procedures including dental fillings and crowns. Laser dentistry has many benefits. Procedures performed using soft tissue dental lasers may not require sutures. Tissue can be regenerated, and the wounds heal faster. Bacterial infections are minimized. Damage to surrounding tissue is minimized. Certain laser dentistry procedures can be performed without administering anesthesia.

Digital Radiology by OPG and RVG and Portable X Rays

OPG (Orthopantomogram)

OPG (Orthopantomogram) is a type of dental x-ray that produces a panoramic view of the jaw. During an OPG examination, part of the equipment will rotate around the patient’s head while they remain in a still, standing or sitting position. OPGs are commonly used to monitor and diagnose teeth impaction, fractures, dislocation, infections, tumors, and sinuses.

RVG (Digital Radiography)

RVG (Digital Radiography) is a relatively new technology and has multiple benefits. The most important of these from a patient perspective are that it ensures minimized radiation for the patient – up to 80% reduction in exposure as compared to conventional X-rays and facilitates faster results with almost no wait time after the radiography is conducted.

Portable X-rays or handheld X-rays

Portable X-rays or handheld X-rays offer a range of benefits. Patients no longer need to be moved from the operatory to the radiography room. These portable devices are faster and easier to use saving precious time for our patients, requiring very little set-up time and provide higher levels of safety with in-built shields. They also provide superior image quality and occupy lesser space.

T-Scan is again the latest in digital technology and uses ultra-thin, disposable sensors to provide a detailed, multi-dimensional image of the oral cavity with precision accuracy. This helps our dentists identify the exact problem causing headaches, neck and jaw pain, TMJ, tooth pain and sensitivity, bruxism and a host of other conditions. The technology also helps us diagnose the severity of the condition, enabling us to easily customize a treatment plan best suited to your needs.  This technology is also used after dental restorations, to verify if the bite force is evenly balanced, for optimal comfort and longevity of your dental work. It makes dental procedures more efficient and comfortable by eliminating multiple trips for adjustment.
